Godrej – The Trees

I was invited by The Trees to write and illustrate for their very thoughtful #TreesOfVikhroli conversation. The tree I picked was Kadamba, also because I did not know much about it and it’s always fun to cook up stories around new beautiful beings.

Rohini would often find recluse in the sweet scent of her bottled up Kadamba flowers. It would instantly take her back to her escapades in the Himalayas and remind her of the serenity of Sri Lanka and the robust structures of Cambodia where she had picked these flowers from.

She woke up to a familiar scent in her new neighbourhood and thought to herself, “Someone’s let out the secret.” She checked the bottle in her still unpacked luggage but no one had touched it. It was still tightly packed.

She smiled as she thought to herself, “A new city, a new window, new everything – but a scent that smelled of a new escapade.”
