Dastoor – Mansi Multani x Gaurav Ogale
Mansi’s voice is sacred. When I first heard her rendition of Habib Jalib’s 𝐷𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑜𝑟, it moved me in ways I could not fathom. And I kept going back to it again and again. More so in recent times when I felt that discomfort within me, this piece helped me gather myself again.
Close to three decades after Habib Jalib’s demise, his words are more relevant than ever before.
Deep jiska mahalaat hi main jale
Chand logon ki khushiyon ko lekar chale
Voh joh saaye mein har maslehat ke pale
Aise dastoor ko, subhe be-noor ko
Main nahin maanta, main nahin jaanta

Zulm ki baat ko, jehl ki raat ko
